Origin and Growers

Our Ethiopian Sidama coffee is cultivated by smallholder farmers in the lush Sidama Zone, a renowned coffee-producing region in southern Ethiopia. These farmers take immense pride in their work, utilizing traditional farming practices that have been passed down through generations. The coffee plants are grown at high altitudes ranging from 1700 to 1900 meters above sea level, which contributes to the beans' unique and complex flavor profile.

Region and Climate

Sidama Zone is celebrated for its fertile soil and ideal coffee-growing climate. The region's Nitisols soil, rich in organic matter, provides the perfect environment for coffee cultivation. The high altitude and moderate climate create optimal conditions for slow bean development, enhancing the coffee's nuanced flavors.

Coffee Varieties

This coffee is derived from indigenous heirloom cultivars, which are unique to Ethiopia. These heirloom varieties are known for their complex and vibrant flavor profiles, making Ethiopian coffees some of the most sought-after in the world.

Processing Method

Our Sidama coffee undergoes a full natural process. After harvesting, the coffee cherries are hand-sorted to ensure only the ripest are selected. These cherries are then spread out on raised beds to dry naturally in the sun. This drying process can take several weeks and is closely monitored to ensure even drying and prevent over-fermentation. The natural processing method enhances the beans' inherent fruity and chocolatey notes, resulting in a rich and full-bodied cup.

Tasting Notes

When you brew our Ethiopian Sidama coffee, you'll be greeted with delightful aromas of milk chocolate and caramel. The flavor is bright and fruity, with hints of berry and a smooth caramel finish. The medium-light roast accentuates these flavors without overwhelming the bean's natural characteristics, offering a well-balanced and satisfying coffee experience.

Enjoy the taste of Ethiopia with every cup, and appreciate the hard work and dedication of the smallholder farmers who bring this exceptional coffee to your table.
